New Year’s Day Prayer

HEAVEN:
Walking barefoot in reality,
Blue canopied with wholeness .
Warmed by perfect love,
Free:
Completely free
To see God,
To think and act
Like Him.

HERE:
Earth’s small windows
Admit patches of totality,
Glimpses of truth.
Worse–
We often live
In artificial
Light.

In this New Year we pray
A dissatisfaction
With small thoughts,
An opening of the
“Blinds” of our hearts,
And ever-growing
Windows
Of wider thinking
And deeper loving.
