My Super Psalm
Linda Gage found great comfort in the Psalms, especially in her last illness. She compiled a notebook of favorite verses from all 150 Psalms and called it:
MY SUPER PSALM
“Happy are those whose. . . delight is in the law of the Lord, and on His law they meditate day and night.” 1:2
“The Lord said to me, ‘You are my beloved son (daughter); today I have begotten you. Ask of me. . .’” 2:7
“You, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, and the One who lifts up my head.” 3:3 (Glory: adoring praise, resplendent beauty, great splendor, absolute happiness, bliss of heaven.)
“I will both lie down and sleep in peace, for You alone, O Lord, make me lie down in safety.” 4:8
“O Lord, in the morning You hear my voice; in the morning I plead my case to You and wait expectantly.” 5:3
“The Lord has heard the sound of my weeping. The Lord has heard my supplication. The Lord accepts my prayer.” 6:9
“The wicked. . . bring forth lies. They make a pit, digging it out, and fall into the hole that they have made.” 7:8,9
“O Lord, our Sovereign, how majestic is Your Name in all the earth. When I look at Your heavens, the moon and stars that You have made; what are human beings that You are mindful of them, mortals that You care for them?” 8:1-4

They feast in the abundance of your house. You give me to drink from the river of your delights. For with You is the fountain of life. In Your light, we see light. (“In your smile we have the light of life.” Moffet.) O continue Your steadfast love to those who know you.” 36:8,9

“I have been young and now am old but I have not see the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread. They are ever giving liberally and lending and their children become a blessing.” 37:25
“It is for You, O Lord, that I wait, it is You, O Lord my God who will answer. For I am ready to fall, and my pain is ever with me. I confess my iniquity. I am sorry for my sin. O my God, do not be far from me: make haste to help me, O Lord, my salvation.” 38:15,21
