Prayer Journal — January 6, 2001

Yesterday I felt a benediction, a sense of completion. A major goal of the last ten years
has been finished—to see our parents through their last days, to surround
them with love, to provide for their dying at home. Their last days were, I truly
believe, the best they could be. We couldn’t take away their pain, their
decline, but we could treat them with respect and make their days as
comfortable as possible. We did that. Thank you God for the way You
answered our prayers for them. Thank You for their peaceful deaths.
Thank You for their love for us that never failed.
